Crowdfunding - Support the production of Falling frames and the exhibition @ Tyson - cologne

Here an update about a current project;
In december I started working on the realisation of a new video work, called ‘Falling Frames'. Unfortunately the production is set on hold as the cost overruns my budget.
I started this Crowdfunding-campagne in matter to raise the missing funds for the production and for the exhibition as wel. Maybe you want to participate?

Through a collaboration with the foundation Videopower from Maastricht I was able to develop a device which is required for the realisation of a new video-work.
My goal is to produce a single video sequence about the frame of the cameras perspective. Filmed with 240frames per second there will be 25 timber frames falling (of a hight of 15meters) into the cameras field of view.
This staged video-sequence is a research about space and how we perceive this space through the twodimensional medium video. For the presenation of this work I wil develop an installation which shall be shown in a solo exhibition in Cologne, at the art space Tyson. The work will also be displayed in the filmtheater Lumière in Maastricht and wil be programmed on the regional television channel L1.

a Videowalk at the European media art festival

For the project "Lichte Momente" I relocated my studio into the historic center of Osnabrück, germany. For a week I was wondering around in matter to create and collect some visual friction. Eight videosketches can now be found and accessed by your smartphone or a tablet (rental at the tourist center). QR-codes are installed at the scenes of origination.

Open studio exhibition at the CAC

In the recently running "open studio exhibition" at the CAC you can get a sight of my summer session project. The videowork "analog sun tracking" is shown in the installation "cessation".

Summer Session 2013 - Chronus art center, Shanghai

This summer I was attending the summer sessions of the V2, Institute for unstable media.
A two month residency at the Chronus Art Center in Shanghai gave me the time and space to develop my proposed project "analog sun tracking".



After six weeks I was finally able to shoot my 1440frames per 24hours in matter to create a sixty seconds long videoloop of the sun.

while my playfull research into video as a media in summer 2010 I did this act of ballancing a plank with a videocamera sticked to it. I did put the live-view on the television which I carried...
